Audition Information
1. Who can audition? You may audition if:
You are a full time (12 credits) undergraduate student at Salisbury University in good academic standing.
2. Do you offer an audition clinic?
We try to offer one each time tryouts are held, more information will be given when it's tryouts season.
3. What do I need to bring on audition day?
You need to bring a completed application with an attached class schedule, and a bottle of water.
4. What do I wear on audition day?
Please be dressed in some form of dance attire that is appropriate. We suggest a form-fitting top and bottom that is appropriate (covers your stomach), dance shoes,sneakers or barefeet. Hair should be worn in a ponytail pulled back or in a bun, and most importantly a big smile.
5. Do I need to bring my own routine?
No, there will be a routine prepared for you perform. You will also be required to show the following technique; a clean right or left double pirouette or more, a clean high toe touch, a spilt, and a clean leap in second to both sides.
6. What should I expect from the audition process?
There will be no group warm up. You will be given a number and you are to stretch on your own. The routine will be taught, a short break will be given then you will be called in as a group of 3. Once all of the dancers have gone there will be a another short break after which the new dancers will be announced.
7. Do you need technique to audition?
No you do not. Just come on out, and do the best that you can.
8. How many dancers are you picking?
Please contact the President for more information.
9. Can my mom/boyfriend/ friend watch auditions?
No.
10. How many times a week do you practice?
Mandatory practices are: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays- 7pm to 9pm
